Pythian Spirit Still Strong
Well, May got off to a rip roaring start!
We’re busier than ever, continuing to support the city-wide community.
Shopping for vulnerable people has been the prevailing mode of support, supplying essential medicines to people who need them, as well as adding that vital social support, stopping by for a chat with people who need it.
It’s within those social calls that we can look at the important notion of focusing on the positives within this unfortunate situation. One of the most beautiful things to come from this has been the special relationships our team have built with people whilst making these regular calls. It’s heartwarming to see the smiles our team are greeted with when they visit people and fulfilling to finish the day knowing a difference has been made.
Ben and some of the young leaders have been working hard, putting together arts and sports activity packs for the younger people in the community. As we mentioned in our last update, our commitment to young people and society as a whole will not wain, and we felt that now was a good time to touch base with the younger people and extend some encouragement during what has no doubt been a tough time for them.
Finally, we have managed to source more food and offer it to anyone who is feeling the pinch. Plenty of people got in touch regarding friends and family who they knew were struggling, which was touching to see.
Business’ around the city have also gotten in touch and offered even more food, which means we still have some left! So if you need anything, please get in touch, we are here to help.
As always we want to extend a huge thank you to all the organisations, business’ and volunteers that have been supporting us throughout.
Stay safe guys, we’ll all get through this together!
