COP26 March in Nottingham

COP 26 is the 26th ‘Conference of the Parties’ which is working with every nation to reach agreement on how to tackle climate change. Below are news articles on The Pythian Club and COP26:

Our very own Ben Rosser’s amazing speech at the Nottingham Climate Assembly March!

As a community interest company, at The Pythian Club, we are passionate and determined to make a real difference within our community and our environment. For over 7 years we have been front of stage to support Youth Action through a variety of activities e.g. sport, music and dance.

Providing a platform to ensure young people have a voice is key in all we do and in collaboration with Nottingham Climate Assembly we have created a Sustainability Youth Action Ambassadors group. This provides a real opportunity for young people from diverse backgrounds to express their concerns about environmental issues, increase their knowledge about climate change and support them to influence others on the impact everyday actions can have on our planet.

In joining the rally, we want to show our support and encourage young people to join our Youth Action group, these are our leaders of tomorrow. In speaking to the people of Nottingham, I want to connect and promote our sustainability goals e.g.to maintain and create more green spaces within Nottingham, and further align all with do with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Our motto #TIMEISNOW could not be more apt when it comes to the challenges facing our environment. Together we must all play our part.”

We had a great number of active participants ready to fight the power!

‘I felt proud to be part of a movement fighting for change in our society that will benefit the whole world’ - Eddie Lee

‘The event was very inspiring’ - Ryan Ward
