Growing confidence & life skills

Supporting young people in growing their confidence and life skills that lead to full-time employment or further education, is one of the areas The Pythian Club prides itself in, here are a few examples of providing this support our Employment, Education, & Mentoring team have given…

The Pythian Club’s employability team have been giving 'into work' support, one of the young people had not always responded to our emails and phone calls and had not wanted to leave the house due to anxiety.
After the team met with them during a visit to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), through discussion and working through this young persons challenged face we supported them into through to an interview at a well know high street restaurant chain and got the job!

Another young person we have supported had had a bad experience at a previous job, the employability team supported them through the process of leaving a toxic working environment and searching for a job role that was in keeping with their ethics.
They went on to start volunteering at a company and then they were offered a kick-start role with the company they were volunteering at, after the kick-start role came to end, they was offered and accepted a permanent position.

We don’t just support young people, we also provide help for those over 25, one of these people were referred to The Pythian Club for assistance in getting a job, we supported them with their personal and social development, this boosted their confidence and self-belief.
After communicating with their DWP work coach DG secured a laptop to help them update their CV and apply for job, DG has since gone on to secure full time employment
