Get ready to be bowled over!

Always interested in promoting sports across the wider community, a meeting of minds between ACEs, The African Caribbean Engagement (ACE) Charity, and The Pythian Club was inevitable.

Launched in 2020 as a response to the decline of black British professional cricket players, the ACE Programme was established to engage young people of African and Caribbean Heritage in cricket, a sport with a known history beginning in late 16th century England.

With the support of the English Cricket Board and Sport England, 2022 saw ACE launch in Nottingham and 5 other key English cities. Against a backdrop of ‘supporting diverse talent from the Grassroots to the Elite’ via talent pathways, elite academy and workforce development, The Pythian Club’s Development Manager, Matt Gains met with ACE Programme Manager, Patrick Gada at Trent Bridge, home of Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club.

Watch this space as we explore how together we can help support the ACEs programme objectives and drive wider engagement of the sport of cricket to inner-city children.

For our current free community session, check out our timetable of weekly activities.
