Health & Care Awards 2024 finalist
Hosted by the Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Systems, the Health and Care Awards 2024 took place at the John Fretwell Complex in Warsop parish on 6 November. In its second year, the awards celebrate best practices in the health, care and voluntary sector in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.
Having aligned its work with the Integrated Care Strategy by promoting holistic health and well-being through collaborative efforts with key partners, including the NHS, social prescribing teams, the city council, the police and community champions, The Club serves as a vital resource for vulnerable groups focussing on social determinants of health.
Entering the ‘Health Inequalities” award category, The Pythian Club’s award submission (completed by dedicated volunteers, Deepa Prahu, Aditi Bhatnagar and Dr Simran Samudre,) focussed on a public health project these individuals worked on addressing the importance of making accessible information available to those in need of support. To this end, a Health Directory was curated providing a postcode-based resource listing of services including e.g. mental health services, drug and alcohol services, food banks and more, available across our region with the ultimate goal of guiding individuals to the right services additionally helping to reduce the stigma of seeking mental health support. By promoting awareness and improving access, we help individuals navigate available resources more confidently and empower them to pursue support without hesitation.
Matt Gains, Business Development Manager and Sommo Chakraborty, Sports Inclusion Manager, joined Dr Deepa Prahu and Aditi Bhatnagar at the award ceremony top receive their Heath & Care Award certificates.
