Increasing knowledge of drug trends
As part of our continuing professional development, we welcomed Neil Brooks, Team Leader, Young Adults Service from Change Grow Live’s ‘Substance Use & Impacted by Substances Services for Under 25’s’ team, who delivered an informative ‘Drug Trends’ training session this month.
As part of the training session, Neil explained that recreational drug use has become normalised and it is now essential that young people who use recreational drugs have the knowledge and skills to make more informed choices; to keep themselves and their peers aware, safe, and well. Amongst other things, Neil shared information about harm reduction, new psychoactive substances, and how Cannabis has changed over the years and the impact these drugs can have on individuals.
Mandy Drake, HR and Operations Manager said: “I felt that this training was essential for our delivery staff enabling them to engage with young people from a place of knowledge and understanding. We are so fortunate to have an organisation of this calibre based locally in the City Centre supporting young people and ourselves. We extend our thanks to Neil, for delivering an eye-opening and insightful session.”
