Supporting young people with NET

The Pythian Club work with different partners across Nottingham, one of them being NET trams.

We have built a fantastic relationship with NET providing support and reassurance to staff and patrons in and around The Tram network. We focus on good behaviour and building a good relationship and rapport with NET customers.

We also respond to any enquiries, concerns, and welfare checks reported by any NET staff.

On the afternoon of Monday 16 May 2022 our CEO received a No Caller ID phone call from NET staff member VAZ who was working on the tram and had encountered a young man who we later established had travelled from London earlier that day, but his accommodation in Nottingham had fallen through.

This young man was basically homeless now and had come to the attention of VAZ.

Ben Rosser spoke to the young man who identified himself as S, Ben explained who he was and how The Pythian Club could help.

S was extremely depressed and emotional, Ben spent some time going through the different options, suggestions and advice available to S, who noted it all down.

Ben also explained to VAZ the course of action which we will be taking.

Ben Rosser says, ‘I’m pleased to inform you that I received a phone call from S informing me that he’s safe and well and his accommodation and well-being is going well.’

Ben continues, ‘Without the intervention of VAZ and the relationship The Pythian Club has with NET, I strongly feel this young man could’ve taken a completely different path but thankfully he’s doing well.’
